AF MICHAEL GRUBE – Den Lille Avis SYDFYN
Tennis Club Odense – tidligere OB Tennis – lagde 30. maj til 2. juni 2024 rødt grus til 4 dage med Senior Fynsmesterskaberne i Tennis Udendørs 2024.
Der spilles Fynsmesterskaber på tre niveauer med Mesterrække, A-række og Motionsrække, og Mesterrækken for de stærkeste damer og herrer blev i år helt domineret af tennisspillerne fra Sydfyn.
Trods hjemmebanefordel til Odensespillerne lykkedes det søskendeparret Amalie og Alexander Grube Andersen fra Vester Skerninge Tennisklub at vinde alle 5 Mesterrækker i både single og double uden at afgive et eneste sæt i kampene, og dermed har de begge præsteret en såkaldt “Triple” ved Fynsmesterskaberne.
Single, double og mixeddouble
21-årige Amalie Grube Andersen har netop afsluttet 2. skoleår på Mars Hill University i North Carolina i USA, og ud over at vinde Damesingle blev det også til sejr i Mixeddouble med lillebror Alexander og i Damedouble med holdkammeraten og grandkusinen 20-årige Anna Nevada Løndahl Henriksen fra Ollerup, der netop har afsluttet sit første skoleår på Union College i Kentucky.
18-årige Alexander Grube Andersen er netop startet på sit første år som seniorspiller, og er til daglig Team Danmark elev på 2. år på HandelsGymnasiet i Svendborg. Han lagde ud med at vinde Herresingle, og efterfølgende Herredouble med Claus Bødker fra Faaborg Tennisklub som makker, inden det også blev til sejr i Mixeddouble sammen med storesøster Amalie.
Historisk også for klubben
Det er så vidt vides ikke sket før, at et søskendepar har vundet alle de stærkeste single- og doublerækker ved Senior Fynsmesterskaberne i Tennis, og bedriften er selvfølgelig også historisk for Vester Skerninge Tennisklub.
Klubbens dygtige unge spillere har nu vundet alle de stærkeste rækker for både damer og herrer ved Junior og Senior Fynsmesterskaberne i Tennis mindst én gang.
Det gælder alle single- og doublerækker i U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 og Senior Mesterrække, og klubbens spillere har præsteret det over en periode på 14 år siden 2010.
Elitedivisionskampe i Vester Skerninge
Inden denne udendørssæson rykkede Vester Skerninge Tennisklubs Damehold op fra 1. Division til Elitedivisionen for Danmarks 8 bedste tennishold.
Vester Skerninge har lavet et holdfællesskab med Tennis Club Odense, da Amalie Grube Andersen og Anna Nevada Løndahl Henriksen i august skal retur til Collegetennis og skolegang i USA.
De to kan dog ikke hvile på laurbær fra Fynsmesterskaberne, da der allerede onsdag d. 5. juni 2024 kl. 16.00 er hjemmekamp i Vester Skerninge Tennisklub mod stærke Hørsholm-Rungsted Tennisklub med bl.a. Danmarksmesteren Johanne Svendsen på holdet.
Lørdag d. 8. juni 2024 er der udekamp mod B93 i København.
Tilskuere til hjemmekampen mod Hørsholm-Rungsted kan glæde sig til at se dygtige unge tennisdamer i aktion på banerne – og Vester Skerninge Tennisklub er vært med kaffe og lidt kage i klubhuset.
De otte hold i Elitedivisionen for Damer er i 2024 ud over Vester Skerninge / TC Odense: B93, Fruens Bøge, Gentofte, Hareskov/Værløse, Holte, Hørsholm-Rungsted og KB.
